About me · Gregor Woitczyk

I want to know what makes it work.

I am Gregor Woitczyk. When something sparks my curiosity, I want to understand its parts and connections. What holds it together? What decisions shaped it? And what could emerge if I put the pieces together differently?

Between code and imagined worlds

That curiosity follows me into developing software and running systems. I investigate workflows and their prerequisites, and build tools that make work easier to understand and carry out. This includes my work on Aven and my exploration of AI and automation.

Writing and worldbuilding let me invent those connections myself. With Gelariad, I am developing a world for stories; through conlanging, I explore sounds, word formation and writing systems. Here, too, I am interested in how individual rules form a coherent whole.

Responsibility is part of it

I am co-founder and technical director of CIRCUMRADIUS, formerly Die Hobrechts. Game development and our current work as a medical device manufacturer are part of the same company history. My work on RADIUS and experience from several audits make responsibility tangible: decisions need to be traceable, and what we build has to hold up in everyday use. That shapes how I approach development and operations.

Support for the next step

I find climbing a useful image for how I work: a checked anchor makes the next move possible. In my work, that anchor might be a cause I understand, a tested prototype or a dependable workflow.

I want to establish those intermediate results and record the reasoning behind them. That lets me adjust the route as I learn, without needlessly repeating work already done. I want others to be able to follow and use what I have understood.

Time for what comes next

Lifetime is finite, and I want to create a lot with it. That makes me think about how much ongoing attention something demands. Every recurring intervention takes time that could go into a new idea.

I begin by investing time in understanding and stabilising things. Once a workflow is dependable, I can develop it further and automate it where that makes sense. I want to build things that work reliably and leave room for what comes next: a solution, a story or a question I want to explore next.

Free up time to create more.
